Author Guidelines

For attention of the Journal’s authors!

The articles to be directed for publication in the scientific and engineering Journal “Energy Technologies and Resource Saving” (http://www.eir-ua.org/) now must meet the enhanced requirements regarding the contents and formal presentation of paper taking into account the actions undertaken last time to join the magazine to the international database of scientific publications SCOPUS.

Mentioned journal publishes the papers correlative with mentioned directives (see page Journal’s sections, main subjects/List of classification headings in website given above).

The manuscripts been directed for publication must include the following components: general statement of the problem under consideration and its connection with modern fundamentals and important applied tasks; analysis of the last researches and publications where the most advanced results of the problem have been obtained and those servicing as the basic for new approach distinguishing the parts of general problem to be studied in the paper and being not solved yet (till present); formulating the paper’s aims; description the main material of researches; discussion and ground of the obtained scientific results; conclusion and perspectives of the further researches and developments in given area; recommendations on application the practical results. The paper could be structured according to basic items to be discussed or in conformity with the most valuable results of investigations.

Text materials are to be sent to the editorial office on a disk or by e-mail (eir@ukr.net) as one file and one print copy with font size 10, 1.5 line spacing in Word 6.0, 7.0, 97, 2000 or XP for Windows. Article size, including tables, figure captions, and references should not exceed 10 pages and contain no more than 6-8 figures. The article must be signed by all authors, pages must be numbered.

The first page must contain the information block: UDC, last names and initials of authors in Russian, degree, full organization name (no abbreviations), exact mailing and email address of the enterprise (organization) of each author, as well as article title, which must be informative and concise, abstract and keywords. This block must be translated into Ukrainian.

The same block must be professionally translated into English with the assistance of a specialized organization (with a reference provided), as the quality of abstracts and their translation is one of the basic requirements to journals for their inclusion in SCOPUS.

Abstract (100-200 words) must reflect the summary and results of the work and not repeat its title, or contain general phrases, numbers, duplicate conclusions.

Keywords (56 words) should contain the main terms of the article.

Formulas must be typed with keyboard. Using the formula editor is not allowed, unless formulas contain mathematical symbols unavailable on keyboard.

Tables must have a number and a name and made using the «Table» option with mandatory line breaks, and be placed after the paragraph in which they are first mentioned. Abbreviations in the text, tables and figures are not allowed.

Figures must be provided as separate graphics files and printouts with mandatory numbering and the last name of the first author. Figures must be made exclusively in specialized graphics software packages Adobe Photoshop, Corel Photo-Paint, Corel Draw with extensions .tif, .jpg, .pcx, .bmp. All graphics files must be provided with a resolution of 300 dpiCharts and diagrams  in black and white format (bitmap 1-bit), photos - in grayscale 8-bit. A figure must be 8.0 cm wide with digitization. Position and curves in a figure are numbered sequentially with 1.5-2 mm font. Only numeric and letter designations are allowed. Explanatory inscriptions must be made ​​in figure captions or in the text. Figures do not need a grid.

Graphic objects inserted («Import» option) in MS Word, will not be accepted as figures!

References are listed in the order of appearance in the text without automatic numbering: ordinal number, last name, initials of all authors, article title, journal name, year, volume, number, pages from and to. For books: after the full names of all the authors - the book's title, city, publisher, year, total number of pages.

In references to copyright certificates and patents it is obligatory to specify the class, authors' last names, full date of publication, number of bulletin.

The manuscript must be supplemented by references in Latin script. This is the same article bibliography, but the last names of authors, journals’ titles are transliterated from Cyrillic (http://ukrlit.org recommended), while the titles of books and articles must be translated into English. After each reference the original language must be indicated in brackets as (Rus.) or (Ukr.) if it is distinguished of English. All authors must be specified and abbreviations are unacceptable.

The article must be supplemented with an institution referral, an internal review, as well as information on all authors, each author's phone number and email address; a contact person must be specified as well.

The editorial will send one layout for approval to authors. The layout should be returned to the editors within 1-3 working days.

Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements will not be considered!
